I feel the need to rant. Just about life in general. No, make that DESI life. I mean where do I start? The inequalities in treatment of boys and girls? Or the face that the first born is always given preference? Or the fact that Desi parents yell at their kids for encouragement. Growing up, whenever I had a big exam, project, or application due, my parents would always yell at me the night before. Whether I had gotten up at 6am and was studying for a straight 12 hours, I would always displease them. I used to get so worked up and depressed that no one in high school wanted to hang out. I mean, people want to be surrounded by positivity right? And I was the polar opposite of that. I emanated negativity and depression. And now, 21 years after my birth, I realize that its not going to change. Parents, especially Indian ones, are set in their ways. No matter how well you construct a meticulous argument against them, they will always refute it with a quick, "I'm your mother, so do as I tell you." I swear, I'll be 35 and raising my kids and my mom will be telling me I'm doing it wrong. NEVER point out your parents mistakes, I've suffered my entire life, hopefully this will give you a heads up.
That's why all our parents hate MLID, because it reminds them of their mistakes. Honestly, which one of our parents actually approves of that site?
Feel better a few months later?
ReplyDeleteHello! I just wanted to comment here because I wasn't sure if you were going to see my reply on my blog. If you email Barbara Margolis at BMargolis@eyeslipsface.com, you'll definitely get a better response than if you go through the customer service form on the site. I would just inform her of your problems, your order number and provide her with pictures!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Barbara informed me that they don't take returns so while the product may not have been used by another customer, it definitely brings up issues about quality control.
Hope this helps!
